Meet the Team: Jazzi

Here at Videri, we have such a fun and dedicated team. That is no exception when it comes to Jazzi. Jazzi is the glue of our production team! She keeps us all on track, is impeccably organized, and continually has incredibly creative and delicious ideas. She’s also our resident spreadsheet queen, and constantly works to make our chocolate offerings even better day in and day out.

Meet: Jazzi Lobue

Hometown: Born in Upstate New York, but has lived in Raleigh, NC since the age of 3

Worked at Videri Since: 2019

Position: Production Manager and Chocolate Maker

Hey, Jazzi! Why work at a chocolate factory, and specifically Videri?

I can eat chocolate whenever I want which is a great perk, but the people I work with keep me coming back.

Anything you never expected about working at a chocolate factory?

I never knew how much skill and effort it takes to make good, high quality chocolate.

What’s something you wish everyone knew about working at a chocolate factory?

The chocolate making process is quite long, and each step plays a vital role in the overall flavor of the chocolate. As chocolate makers, we have to use all of our senses to get the best overall product from the cocoa beans.

What’s one thing you love about leading the Production Team here at Videri?

I love that we all know we can rely on each other whenever we need. I always know if something comes up or if I need help with something our team will always come through.

What’s your current favorite restaurant around town, and what do you love to order?

My current favorite restaurant is Crawford & Son for a nice night out, but for an everyday lunch spot, I love to stop by Gym Tacos!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

Italy is at the top of my bucket list!

What’s your current favorite bar, and what do you love about it?

75% Vietnam is my favorite bar, currently. I just love how powerful the raisin flavor comes through. It tastes like a delicious Raisinet.

How does tempering affect the taste of chocolate?

Tempering chocolate really allows the chocolate to melt a little slower in your mouth. In turn, allowing you to taste all of the wonderful flavor notes that develop throughout the chocolate making process.

What’s your favorite seasonal bonbon, and why?

I'm not sure if it counts as a bonbon, but our summer seasonal S'mores Candy Bar is sooooo yummy.

And, lastly, what’s your go-to soft serve combination?

Vanilla soft serve with caramel and cookie crumble is always in my cup!

Thank you so much for chatting with us, Jazzi. We’re so grateful to have you on our team! Cheers to many more years of chocolate-making magic with you. ✨
