calm before the storm

[The calm before the storm]

We were very excited to participate in this year's Farm to Fork event! Every year the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) throws a huge picnic by pairing some of the most talented chefs and food artisans with local farms to highlight the fantastic sights, smells and tastes elicited when you eat fresh, local, organic foods.

We were lucky enough to be paired with the Chicken Bridge Bakery. Rob and Monica are a delightful pair of bakers who make some beautifully delicious breads and baked treats.

We collaborated on a "s'mores" plate: fresh baked graham cracker, home made marshmallow with local honey, a 90% Ecuadorian chocolate dipping sauce, along with a fresh baked pretzel to clean the pallete.

Participants spent the day indulging in the richest and most delectable foods the Triangle has to offer. They were also entertained by lightening quick bluegrass music on the main stage.

We ran out of dipping chocolate (!) so we had to put out some tiles of our 70% classic dark. Nicole and Carrie showed up and charmed the heck out of all the excited chocolate enthusiasts who came to visit us.

chocolate!

We had such a blast and if we get invited back next year we'll make sure to bring much more chocolate!

Much thanks to Rob and Monica from Chicken Bridge, CEFS and all those who contributed to make Farm to Form a fantastic experience!
