Farm to Fork 2014!

calm before the storm

[The calm before the storm]

We were very excited to participate in this year's Farm to Fork event! Every year the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) throws a huge picnic by pairing some of the most talented chefs and food artisans with local farms to highlight the fantastic sights, smells and tastes elicited when you eat fresh, local, organic foods.

ChickenBridge

We were lucky enough to be paired with the Chicken Bridge Bakery. Rob and Monica are a delightful pair of bakers who make some beautifully delicious breads and baked treats.

We collaborated on a "s'mores" plate: fresh baked graham cracker, home made marshmallow with local honey, a 90% Ecuadorian chocolate dipping sauce, along with a fresh baked pretzel to clean the pallete.

Participants spent the day indulging in the richest and most delectable foods the Triangle has to offer. They were also entertained by lightening quick bluegrass music on the main stage.

We ran out of dipping chocolate (!) so we had to put out some tiles of our 70% classic dark. Nicole and Carrie showed up and charmed the heck out of all the excited chocolate enthusiasts who came to visit us.

chocolate!

We had such a blast and if we get invited back next year we'll make sure to bring much more chocolate!

Much thanks to Rob and Monica from Chicken Bridge, CEFS and all those who contributed to make Farm to Form a fantastic experience!

So it’s almost a month out, but we thought we should post some pics of April’s First Friday event we held here. It was our first dip into the Downtown Raleigh First Friday art scene and we’re going to keep it going. Showcasing our friends in the art community in our awesome space. It’s a perfect match and there is no shortage of talented artists in our immediate area so why not stay open a little later on First Fridays? Right? We’ll definitely let y’all know who and when another artist agrees to put some things up on our walls.

First Friday

We lucked out having Sean Marlin as our first resident artist. He does great work.

THIS Friday. 4/5. Our pal Sean Marlin will be showing some of his work, fresh off of an exhibition at Gallery A. We’re very excited… we’ve been wanting to have somebody show their art here for some time now and now our OFFICIAL Coffee Counter opening is the perfect reason to start showing local painters and/or photographers and/or sculptors and/or ANYTHING! Come on out and watch and drink and hang out with us and with Sean and with DAVE GOOCH…
