Recipe: Sipping Chocolate ~ Luxurious Hot Chocolate

Latte art poured by Taylor Weber of Black & White Coffee Roasters Downtown

YIELD ~280 grams Sipping Chocolate

SIpping Chocolate INGREDIENTS:

120 grams water

120 grams Videri Chocolate (2 bars of your choosing)

40 grams organic cane sugar

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. The ratio for sipping chocolate is as follows: 1 part sugar, 3 parts chocolate, 3 parts water. On your stove, heat the water on medium low in a small pot.

  2. Add chocolate and sugar until fully incorporated and melted. You now have sipping chocolate! This can be stored in a fridge for up to two weeks and can be reheated to bring back the warm chocolatey goodness.

  3. To create hot chocolate similar to what you could find at Black and White Coffee Roasters, the ratio of sipping chocolate to milk will be 1:5. If you have a steam wand, steam the milk as you would for a latte. Otherwise, heat the milk of your choice on the stovetop, mix it into the sipping chocolate, and enjoy!

Tips:

  • If you want to have some fun, feel free to add spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, and/or cloves!
