Videri Chocolate Factory was started by a group of friendly folks who wanted to create wonderful chocolate, from bean to bar, everyday. Weโre a cozy downtown chocolate factory that scrupulously sources every ingredient to ensure a high quality, responsible chocolate. We are hoping to change the face of fine, hand-crafted, artisan chocolate by being a welcoming chocolate factory that makes people feel happy and at home.
Sourcing
Cacao begins with the farmers and we have them to thank for all of our chocolate worldwide. We start with beans from Camino Verde and Eco Cacao in Ecuador, Lachua in Guatemala, Rayan in Mexico, Hacienda Jean Marie in Puerto Rico, Tumaco in Colombia, Reserva Zorzal and Oko Caribe in The Dominican Republic, Kokoa Kamili in Tanzania and Tien Giang in Vietnam. From there, we sort and roast beans to bring out their distinct flavors. While our commitment to ethical sustainable chocolate begins with cacao, it doesnโt end there. From the local ingredients we use in our bonbons, to the sustainable boxes we pack them in, to the local community organizations we support, we are committed to making the world a better place one treat at a time.
In 2023, Videri Chocolate Factoryโs owner Sam Ratto, visited one of our sources in Guatemala, Lachua, along with our chocolate makers Mordecai, Jazzi, and Carrie. Photos above.
